Located in the upper reaches of the yellow river in China's hinterland.
Shaanxi province is one of the essential birthplaces of the Chinese nation
and civilization. In its long 5000 yar history, as many as 13 kingdoms
and dynasties have built their caplitals here. As a result, historical
retics aound both abov and below ground, giving shaanxi the name of a
"Natural Museum of History".
This province also boasts rich tourist resources with magnificent and
unique natural scenery, and famous rivers and mountains which form five
golden tourist routes radiating in all directions of the province form
their core of Xi'an. Thus shaanxi has become an international tourist
area.
Xi'an (known as Chang'an in ancient times), the provincial capital, is
on of only four cities in the world with an ancient civilization. It was
also th starting point of the Silk Road. Today this ancient yet youthful
city attracts a great number of visitors who wish to experience the ancient
caravan trails.
As the saying goes, "Gifted scholars spring in the south, generals
ris in the north and under the loess of Shaanxi emperors are buried".
A visit to Shaanxi is like leaping though time and space to trace the
