The birds inventory in Shaanxi province from 2002-2007 shows that there are 465 species of bird belonging to 18 orders, 69 families, accounting for 34.9% of the total bird species in China.
For protecting perfectly birds resources, we have created an outstanding work of reference, the illustrated Encyclopedia of Birds of Shanxi based on up-to date from this inventory, and Aves taxology system used by “A Checklist on the Classification of the Birds of China” made by Mr. Zhang Guangmei in 2005. To provide as complete a picture as possible, the illustrations show significant variations in appearance, body shape. The accompanying text gives details of the birds’ range, habitat, size, and mating and nesting, conservation status.
