Book is mainly a summary of achievements gained by our High Pressure Water
Jet Laboratory, University of Petroleum, China in the research on application
of water jet technology in petroleum engineering for the past seventeen
years. The book is composed of seven chapters: Introduction, Jet Dynamics
and a new method for hydraulic programming for oil well drilling, numerical
simulation of the jet flow generated by jet bits in drilling, self-resonating
cavitating jet, well drilling by bits furnished with mechanical cutters
combined with water jets, horizontal radial drilling with a swirling water
jet, application of water jet technology in well completion and reservoir
engineering.
