In this book , 575 species of myxosporeans, including 213 new species
are described from practical materials in freshwater fish in China and
from our own investigation carried out also in China. These species, as
classified by authors, are divided into 2 orders, 3 sub-orders including
1 new order, new suborder, 15 families including 2 new families, and 23
genera. In the genera knowledge part of this book, the research history,
classification system, morphology, life-cycle, geography distribution,
myxosporidiasis and research methods are presented.
In the rest of the book, major characteristics of class,
orders , suborders families and genera are listed together with their
keys. Descriptions of myxosporoean species contain information about morphological
characteristics, hosts and sites in hosts, geographical distribution.
The appendix including 180 figure plates 3151 figures as well as 20 figures
on ultrastructure
