【Introduction】

   The content of the book reflects the basic constitution of Petroleum Exploration Engineering. The first two chapters talks about the basis of PEE, demonstrating recent advancement in both the theories of petroleum geology and relative disciplines and exploration techniques. In chapters three to six the core contents of PEE, namely exploration methods, are systematically discussed. After expounding the classification of exploration phases and tasks, techniques and methods for each phase, the methods of basin analysis and evaluation, trap description and evaluation , reservoir description and evaluation are debated. In chapter seven to ten the soul of PEE, that is exploration management , is discussed. several important problems in petroleum exploration such as resources management, exploration decision and laying out of exploration plan, management of exploration project are discussed.
