【Introduction】

   The International Symposium on Petrogenesis and Mineralization of Granitoids, sponsored by the Chinese Society of Mineralogy, Petrology and Geochemistry and the Institute of Geochemistry, Chinese Academy of Sciences, was held on December 7-10, 1987 at Guangzhou, China. 280 abstracts, 140 oral presentations and 40 posters were given by the geologists, geochemists and geophysists from all over the world.
This proceedings volume includes 119 papers contributed by the authors who submitted abstracts and were willing to contribute papers. The papers were compiled into five parts: (1) petrogenesis of granitoids; (2) tectonic environment of granitoid occurrence; (3) types and characteristics of granitoids; (4) mineralizations of granitoids, as well as (5) petrogenesis and mineralization of acid volcanic rocks.
This volumes gives a rather comprehensive information concerning the update knowledge and achievements on the granite study and the acid volcanics research in the world, especially in China
