【Introduction】

   This map was compiled during the period from 2001 to 2003 to fulfil the requirement of the strategy development of Western China. The area of the map mainly comprises western China to the west of Xi’an which covers more than half of the territory of China, and areas of countries adjacent to western China. The map covers an area of combines the geology of neighboring countries and methods. Geological data of the territory of China are up to the end of 2003; while those of territories of neighboring countries are up to the end of 2002.
