In recent years ,lots of well-preserved ,beautiful pterosaurs were found in Middle Jurassic to Early Cretaceous rocks of the most productive regions in the world ,that can match the Jurassic German Solnhofen and the pterosaur fossil localities of Biazil ,or even exceed them。At present, about 50 genera belonging to 12 families of pterosaurs have been discovered in China,and make up almost half the number of known pterosaurs in the world。More and more species will continue to be discovered with the further research。China has become the richest country with pterosaurs fossils discovered in the world。Much of Information about these new pterosaurs is hidden away in scientific papers and only accessible to specialists 。“Dragons of the skies”presents the first detailed overview of the wealth of recent pterosaurs discoveries in China。In this book you can read all about these mesozoic dragons :where they lived,what they ate ,and what they looked like 。You can also find out where these fossil were found ,and where you can see them,for yourself,today。

Lü Junchang graduated from Department of Geology,Lanzhou University in 1989,received the Bachelor of Science Degree;he gained his Msc in vertebrate paleontology from Chinese Academy of Sciences in March of 2000,trained under the famous dinosaur paleontologist professor Dong Zhiming。In June of 004,he gained his PhD in vertebrate paleontology from Southern Methodist University (SMU),trained under the famous vertebrate paleobiologist professor Louis Jacobs.
He worked in the Institute of Vertebrate Paleontology and Paleoanthropology ,Chinese Academy of Sciences from June of 1989 to June of 2000.Sience July of 2004,he works at the Institute of Geology ,Chinese Academy of Geological Sciences。So far ,he published more than 70 papers,one monograph and two books(co-edited)
