Fauna Sinica Insecta (Vol.23) Diptera Tachinidae (1), The present work is the first band of the Tachinid fauna of China which will published in three bands. It comprises three parts: 1. General Account. (1) Brief history of the tachinid resesrch; (2) Economical significance; (3) Parsitic biology and ecological behavior of the tachinids; (4) Mutual relationships between tachinids and their hosts; (5)Evaluation to the tachinids in both benefical and harmful aspects for the man's production ; (6) Utilization of the tachinids; (7) Preventation and control of certain species of tachinids causing certain harms to some economical insects; (8) Collecting and rearing of tachinids; (9) Specimen making 2. Morphology : (1) External morphological characters; (2) Internal structures of flies; (3) Internal structures of maggots; (4) Morphology of parasitezed tissue of host 3. Systematics: This part contains one subfamily, 4 tribes, 39 genera and 146 species. In the whole work there are 8 plates of attached coloured patterns including 74 pictures, 2 plates of couloured photographs including 24 pictures, 35 black and white photos and drawings, 42 figures of morphological characters and 543 figures of taxonomic characters.
