The present work deals with aphid fauna in Northwest region, China. It includes two parts: a general account and a taxonomic account. The general account comprise five chapters, in the first, the morphology, biology, historical review and economic importance of aphids; in the second, composition and characteristics of aphids fauna in Northwest Region, China; in the third, phylogeny and the evolution of host plant associations in Pemphigidae and Lachnidae; in the fourth, phylogenetic nd biogeographic analysis of Diuraphis Aizenerg; in the fifth, field keys for the aphid in Northwest Region, China. In taxonomic account, totally 405 species, belong to 129 genera are described. Among them, 102 species or subspecies are new to science, 2 genera ad 37 species are new to recorded from China. 28 new host plants are added to the list of 25 aphid species and some important biology aspects are firstly described for 42 aphid species, key to families, genera and species are given.
