This monograph deals with the systematic studies on the subfamily Meteorinae Cresson of the family Braconidae from China. It comprises two parts, namely general account and systematic account. In the general account, which is divided into six chapters, the taxonomic history, current taxonomic notes, morphology, biology and ecology, phylogeny, prospect for application, and methods for collecting, identifying and preserving the specimens are reviewed.
In the systematic account, 2 genera and 88 species are recognized from China, including 53 new species and 17 species which are recorded for the first time from China. Keys are given to genera, species groups, subspecies groups and species in this paper Under each genus, the generic synonym, systematic history and present systematic status, phylogenic relationship, diagnostic characters, distribution and biology are reviewed and discussed. All the species treated in this paper are described and illustrated fully except a few species which are not available. After the systematic account, the literature cited in this paper is listed. Indices to Chinese and scientific names of the parasites are also given.  Finally, a list of the known Chinese genera and species of the subfamily meteorinae with their hosts and distribution is provided. This list records 2 genera and 89 species from China. In this monogroph, 202 SEM photos and 48 figures are also provided.
