The book deals with the Triassic and Jurassic spore and pollen assemblages from the Kuqa Depression in the Tarim Basin of Uygur Autonomous Region of Xinjiang, NW China. Described herein are totally 89 genera and 194 species of spores and pollen. A sporopollen assemblage sequence is proposed for the Triassic and Jurassic sediments of the Tarim Basin. The geological ages of each assemblage are discussed too. The Triassic and Jurassic sporopollen assemblage sequence of the Kuqa Depression in Tarim Basin, Xinjiang are as follows in ascending order.
1. Taeniaesporites-Limatulasporites-Lundbladispora-Aratrisporites Assemblage (from the lower part of the Ehuobulake Formation, late Early Triassic)
2. Monosulcites-Verrucosisporites-Lundbladispora-Aratrisporites Assemblage (from the uppr part of the Ehuobulake Formation, late Early Triassic)
3. Punctatisporites-Aratrisporites-Parataeniaesporites Assemblage (from the lower part of the Karamay Formation, Middle Triassic)
4. Aratrisporites-Parataeniaesporites assemblage (in the upper part of the Karamay formation, Middle Triassic)
5. Dictyophyllidites-Aratrisporites-parataeniaesporites Assemblage (from the Huangshanjie and Tariqike Formations, Late Triassic) this assemblage includes two subassemblages:
(1) Lower Subassemblage (In the Huangshanjie Formation, early and middle late Triassic)
(2) Upper Subassemblage (in the Tariqike Formation, late Late Triassic)
6. Disacciatrileti-Cyathidites Assemblage (in the Ahe formation, Early Early Jurassic)
7. Cyathidites-Cibotiumspora-Disacciatrileti Assemblage (in the Yangxia formation, late Early Jurassic)
8. Cyathidites-Neoraistrickia-Disacciatrilti Assemblage (in the Kizilnur Formation, early Middle Jurassic)
9. Cyathidites-Classopollis Assemblage (in the Tikmak formation, late Middle Jurassic)
