The book, Gems from auction of Chinese antiques, shown in front of you is compiled mainly for commemorating the fifth anniversary of appearance of auctions of Chinese auctions of Chinese antiques in China.

 

This book contents the following seven categories: Chinese painting and calligraphy, pottery and porcelain, jade articles, rare books and rubbings of monumental inscriptions, hard wood furniture, Chinese snuff bottles, and articles fashioned of bamboo, wood, ivory, lacquer and gourd which response the mainstream of auctions of Chinese antiques. There are eight hundred pieces of art works in this book selected from over thirty thousands of works sold at auction of Gardian, Han Hai, Sungri, Rong Bao, Kang Rong and Defender. Each piece of art work selected in this book is put forward the requirements of its value, quality, genuineness and tastes. We hope the brief introduction to and comment on each piece of art work given in this book will give not only a clear picture of reference and appreciation to those antique collectors and connoisseurs but also a guide to those antique fans.
