In China, Shinisaurus crocodilurus Ahl, a primitive lizard, is one of rare and first-rate protected animals, which has been listed on Appendix II of CITES Convention. Shinisaurus crocodilurus Ahl, also a rare-survived species in the end of glacial era of Quaternary period in south China, has a very important value of study in evolution of animals and species. Now there is Shinisaurus Crocodilurus Ahl. between 490 and 654 pieces in Hezhou, Zhaoping, Jingxiu and other countries of Guangxi Province, between 160 and 200 pieces in Luokeng Preservation Zone of Qujiang County in Shaoguan City of Guangdong Province. On the whole, the species quality is four-fifths less than that of 2000 year. However, we have discussed recently that some new distributions of Shinisaurus Crocodilurus Ahl in Guangxi Province due to the protecting measures carried out by the government.
Recently the quality of the habitat of Shinisaurus crocodilurus has been worsening gradually; the populatioj of Shinisaurus crocodilurus is decreasing and highly threatened due to the influences of some human factors.
