The volume of amphibian, reptile and mammal of Fauna of Hebei is edited and compiled by the scholars from Hebei Normal University, the Forestry Department of Hebei Province, Hebei Institute of Geographical Sciences, Anti-plague Institute of Hebei Province, Agriculture University of Hebei, Capital Normal University, and Beijing Museum of Natural History. In this volume, 121 species of amphibian, reptile and mammal are recorded in Hebei Province, which includes 10 amphibian species from 5 genera, 5 families, 1 order, and 87 mammal species from 23 families, 9 orders. This volume mainly consists of two parts: general and systematic introductions. The general introduction includes the brief research history, the geographical division, the economic significance and the check-list of the amphibian, reptile and mammal in Hebei Province. The systematic introduction includes the identification characteristics of the each class, family, genus, the morphologic characteristics, the ecology, the geographic distribution, the economic significance, and the subspecies differentiation of each species. The morphological structures of the outside shape, the skull, and the part of the body are presented. The characteristics of species are described according to the specific specimen.
