As the 12th volume of a serial publication, Fauna Sinica-Aves, planned in total fourteen volumes, this volume deals with the subfamily Sylviinae and Muscicapinae of the family Muscicapidae, Passeriformes, containing 26 genera and 135 species.

Geographical distribution

II. Species Account
The following items are treated for each species
Scientific nomenclature, with vernacular names in Chinese and English

Ecological notes
Special discussion on taxonomy has been given to the species with subspecific differentiation. Distribution maps in China and color plates for some species are also supplied.
