Flora of Hunan is a series of monographs expatiating systematically on the plant resources including the wild and cultivated vascular plants in Hunan. It provides with botanical names and descriptions for families, genera, species, subspecies or varieties. Each species is described sequentially with botanical name, important references, morphological characters, distribution and habitats in details. The names include Latin names, Chinese names and local common names. For some species, especially the species with important value or potential exploitability, their civil usages, chemical constituents and medical efficacies or industrial utilities are briefly introduced. In order to conveniently determine and classify plants, brief and clear-cut keys are given to genera, species and varieties. It is a contribution to plant classification, bio-diversity research, resource exploiture and conservation.
This is the third volume of Flora of Hunan. It records totally 22 families, 215 genera, 976 species and categories below species of Acitinidiaeae-Daphniphyllaceae of angiosperm and contains 326 plates of figures and more than 46 color photographs. It is a professional reference book with scientific, utililarian and local characteristics.
The flora is available for teachers and students, researchers or practitioners in the fields of plant sciences, agriculture, forestry, horiticulture, medicine and pharmacy, environment protection, light industry and chemistry industry.
