  Located in the northwestern part of Henan Province. Jiyuan (Source of the Jishui River) City was the native place of the Foolish Old Man in legend. With the Taihang mountain to the north, Wangwu Mountain to the west, Yellow River to the south, and the Central Plain to the east, the City occupies the central area of Jiaozhou, Luo yang, Jinchng, and Houma cities. As the Jishui River rises in the area, hence the name of the city. In ancient times, the Jishui River, Yellow River, Huaihe River and the Yangtze River were called " four rivers" jointly, and Jiyuan is a famous city of historical culture and a newly-rising city as well of industry and tourism.
