The purpose of this book is to demonstrate to the public the beauty, interest and uniqueness of rare and precious plants native to China in order to motivate people to appreciate and protect natre as well as to live harmoniously with nature. In this book there are a total of 676 photographs of 327 species and varieties taken over several decades by more than 40 scientific colleagues working in the wild and botanical gardens. This book primarily covers species listed on the first list of national protected plants and portion of the second list. Which will be announced in the near future as well as some interesting and regionally endemic species.In addition, the primary morphological features and habitats as well as scientific, economic, medicinal and horticultural value of these plants are described in both Chinese and English
