This book is the main research achievement of this China-Canada international cooperation project. It covers a wide range of topics. The writing staff are as follows: Chapter I is devoted to the main method and background of the project by Yin Yongyuan; Chapter II briefly introduces the basic conditions of environment, climate, society and economy in the Yangtse River Delta by Miao Qilong; Chapter III analyzes the features of temperature and precipitation change in the Yangtse River Delta since 1951 by Jin Long, Miao Qilong and Liu Yafang; Chapter IV establishes a model of water usage in agriculture and industry, discusses in the input and output of water in the Yangtse River Delta when climate changes and provides countermeasures by countermeasures by Miao Qilong, Zhang Yongqing£¬Xiang Yuyi and Gu Xianyue; Chapter V is devoted to the effects of climate change on agriculture by computer simulation by Zheng Youfei, Miao Qilong and Wan Changjian; Chapter VI establishes a statistical model to evaluate the effect of climate change on industry by Wu Xi, Miao Qilong and Gu Xianyue; Chapter VII assesses the effect of climate change on the coastal zone of the Yangtse River Delta by Miao Qilong, Gu Xianyue and Zhang Yongqing; Chapter VIII develops a synthetical assessment model of land usage suitable for the Yangtse River Delta and analyzes the development conditions of society, economy and environment under climate change by Zhou Suoquan, Miao Qilong and Yin Yongyuan; Chapter IX optimizes the policy and countermeasures by the land usage assessment model by Zhou Suoquan, Miao Qilong£¬Yin Yongyuan, Tian Guangsheng and Zhang Yongqing. The Chinese manuscript is examined and approved by Professor Miao Qilong. The English manuscript is corrected and revised by Dr. Yongyuan Yin
