Xishuang Banna is located in Yunnan Province, one of the regions of China having rich resources of wild plants. There is a great variety of plants in this region and the flower plants alone claim over 4000 varieties. The wild flowers and plants with different shapes and colours, which are scarcely known to the outside world, have aroused great interest of the people. The wild flowers and plants are the ancestors of the present cultivated ones and the source of new varieties of future ones.
