The characteristics of this monograph is deepgoing and
systematic, it is a basic science of wood properties that studies on the
relationship among wood property and intensive cultivation and wood efficient
utilization. It provides both scientific evidence for fast growing wood
oriented cultivation and intensive cultivation and theoretic guide for
fast growing wood efficient and reasonable utilization.The monograph is
divided into 8 chapters respectively. In which, the first chapter is about
wood anatomy features of man-made plantation, including the ultramicro-structure
features, the second is chemical properties, the third is physical properties,
the fourth is mechanical properties, the fifth is wood properties variation
of different provenances, populations and clones, the sixth is the effects
of different silvicultural practices on wood properties, the seventh is
wood properties variance and early prediction, the eighth is the effects
of properties on pulping and plywood manufacture.
