The Geographical Society of China will celebrate its 75th anniversary
in 1984, accidentally the International Geographical Union will convene
its 25th congress in July of the same year at Paris.
The Publishing of " Geography in China" is intended as a commemoration
of the Society's anniversary. The book presents the main studies and results
done by the Chinese geographers particularly after the establishment of
the People's Republic. This is the first publication that comprehensively
displays the achievements of geographical science in China.
