【Main Contents】
The book is written on the basics of systematic study on karst features within the terrain from Xing'an in the north to yangshuo in the south, bounded by the Haiyangshan Mt in the east and the Jiaqiaoling Mt in the west, /the emphasis of the book is put on Guilin-type peak-forest and peak-cluster karst geomorphology and caves, including various cave morphologic forms and their classification. Based on the distribution and development of foot caves in stone hills, and on some new views about the regularities the development of Guilin-type karst, the representative tropical karst are elucidated, as well as the history of karst development in the area. The book has a collection of more than 360 coloured photographs, 35 sketches and diagrams with explanations, one geomorphologic map of Guilin area, one map of cave distribution in Guilin area, and an appended list of major caves.
