The Workshop was focused on four main types of natural disasters:Physical Meteorological and Oceanic; Seismic and Geological; Biological Impacts; and Comprehensive Disaster Management. The workshop identified several key themes for future cooperation: development and continual improvement of comprehensive national mitigation strategies; improvement of environmental monitoring and observation networks, and natural disaster prediction; improved full and open exchange of data and information improved communication systems; and engaging in specific and comprehensive activities to prevent, mitigate and reduce the impacts of natural disasters.
