  The financial contributions and administrative supported by the International Geological Correlation Programme (IGCP) Project No. 246. National Working Grouup of China for IGCP-246 aims at investigationg the major Neogene events in the Pacific area, mainly the time range and special extension, the nature and interrelationship, the cause and consequence. In this proceeding, 24 papers were collected. Based on their contents, they may be divided into two main parts, the first half deals with marine events; the second half, non-marine ones.
