Chinese loess deposits have long been recognized by many
quaternary scientists in the world as archives of regional and /or of
global climatic and environmental changes and been a focal point of geological
interest in recent years. .This book comprise of about twenty papers dealing
with the fundamental aspects of the recent loess research in China, such
as high-resolution time series, climatic and environmental proxy record,
climatic interpretation of loess-paleosol sequence, terrestrial-marine
correlation, astronomical forcing of loess-soil alternation, monsoonal
variation and variability, as well as dynamic process involved in dust
deflation, transport and deposition. This book is edited primarily for
researchers and advanced students in quaternary stratigraphy, geological
chronology, paleoclimatology, neotectonics and isotopic geochemistry,
but it is also most likely to be of value to soil scientists, sedimentologists,
and others concerned with engineering as well as environmental management.
This volumes is dedicated to the XIII INQUA Congress. กก
