This atlas consists of 236 colour prints and 34 climatological tables in its over 300 delicate octavo pages between colourful covers. The contents include:
I. Genesis, Development and Decay of Northwest Pacific Tropical Cyclones,
II. Track and Movement of Northwest Pacific Tropical Cyclones,
III. Tropical cyclones Making Landfall on China.

The atlas is easy of access with 30 years’ climatological characteristics for the Northwest Pacific tropical cyclones and a reference list of the numbers, sequential numbers and names for all Northwest Pacific tropical cyclones between 1949 and 1985. The averages in the atlas are made for years of 1951-1980 but yearly values can be read between 1949 and 1985. The atlas is especially useful for readers from meteorological forecasting, research and education; from disaster prevention and mitigation department in industry, agriculture, transportation and national defence; and from decision-making authorities.
