Zhejiang Province is located in the southeast of China, on the edge of the East Asian continent.  It covers about 101.8 thousand km of land area and 260 thousand km of sea area. The complex geological structures and fully developed stratigraphic sequences make this place store lots of valuable paleontological resources. Unti 2011. ten golden spikes GSSPS(Global Boundary Stratotype Section and Point have been defined in China by the International Union of Geological Sciences, and three of them, Meishan of Changxing, Huangnitang of Changshan and Duibian of Jiangshan, are in Zhejiang Province. The Cretaceous dinosaurs, Permian fish fossils and animal remains of Quaternary cultural sites are highly valuable worldwide Zhejiang Museum of Natural History is one of a handful of provincial museums of natural history in China. With great endeavors made by generations of its staff over the past eighty years, Zhejiang Museum of Natural History has now become a nationa famous museum of natural history with modern rationale and unique characteristics of Zhejiang Province. It gradually develops into two branches: life science and earth science, whose aims are collecting specimens, researching, displaying and publicizing - from preface
