Atlas of Light Moths in Jilin鳞翅目害虫（蛾类）是农业害虫最重要的一类，在吉林省危害玉米的玉米螟、黏虫、棉铃虫，危害水稻的二化螟，危害大豆的大豆食心虫、草地螟等均为鳞翅目害虫。近年来，伴随黏虫、草地贪夜蛾、稻飞虱和稻纵卷叶螟等迁飞性害虫的频繁猖獗，国内害虫监测预警体系的建设进一步完善。在国家和省级项目资金的支持下，吉林省多地建成了标准化的病虫害监测站点，配备了自动虫情测报灯、高空诱虫灯等害虫监测设备。准确鉴别灯下蛾类是害虫监测工作的重点，但蛾类的分类工作专业性强、难度大，是一直困扰基层测报工作者的难题。目前，吉林省还没有正式出版的灯下昆虫分类相关著作，对于开展害虫测报工作造成一定的困扰，为了解决这一实际问题，编者撰写了本书。    编者研究团队致力于迁飞性害虫的研究，设立了3个长期监测点，连续多年搜集鉴定灯下蛾类并观测记录其发生动态。本书主要介绍吉林省灯下鳞翅目昆虫18科234种，通过图片展示成虫背面、腹面、翅等局部特征，并配以详细的文字描述。除形态描述外，利用逐日的灯下蛾量数据绘制成种群动态图，清晰明了地呈现了各种鳞翅目害虫在吉林省的发生期、高峰期。本书内容及所含数据可为基层病虫害测报人员和植保科研工作者提供参考。同时，本书所述内容虽然具有较强的地域性，但亦可为吉林省临近省份的蛾类鉴定提供借鉴。
