This is the first book to systematically record plants in the Karakorum and Kunlun mountains. The set book will be divided into four volumes. It records over 2600 species vascular bundle plants in the area. This volume contains 532 species, 15 subspecies and 53 varietas belonging to 10 families from Typhaceae to Orchidaceae, 106 genera, describing their morphological characteristics, distribution and ecological environment, with 80 black and white figure plates, 8 color plates. The new taxonomic group characters, history of specimen collection, Index to Chinese name and Index to Latin name, a map indicating the area are also provided in the end of the book.
《昆仑植物志》是我国第一部系统记载喀喇昆仑山-昆仑山地区植物的大型专著。全书分为4卷，共收录喀喇昆仑山-昆仑山地区迄今所知的维管束植物2600余种（包括种下类型）。本卷收录被子植物门单子叶植物纲香蒲科至兰科 植物共10科 106属 532种 15亚种37变种。书中除在各属种名下列出其主要相关文献、形态特征、产地分布和生境外，还特别列出附带详细地点的凭证标本号以供查阅。另含属种检索表若干，墨线图版80个，彩色图版8个；书末附有新分类群特征集要、标本采集史、植物中名索引和拉丁名索引，以及喀喇昆仑山-昆仑山地区范围图和山文水系图。
