The present work deals with the preliminary fauna of issidae and caliscelidae of china mainly based on the specimens deposited in the Institute of Entomology, Guizhou University, Guiyang, Guizhou Province (IEGU). It consists of two sections, general section and taxonomic section. In the general section, the historic review of classification, taxonomic systems, morphology and biology of two families from China are introduced. In the taxonomic section, 31 genera and 74 species of Issidae and Caliscelidae fro China are described or redescribed. Among them four genera and 19 species are described as new to science, one genus and two species are newly recorded from China. Two new combinations species are proposed. The keys to the families, subfamilies and the Chinese tribes, genera and species of Issidae and Caliscelidae are presented.
