Trilobite Fauna from the Ordovician Pagoda Formation of Central and Western Yangtze Block, China,A rich tilobite fauna, consisting of one hundred and twenty-six species, eleven conformable species, and sixty-six species unde open nomenclature belonging to three subgenera,seventy-seven genera and twenty-nine families is recorded from the Pagoda Formation )Late Darriwilian, Middle Ordovician-late Early Katian, Late Ordovician) in central and western Yangtze Block, China. The fauna includes three new genera (Leiolonchodamas, Lonchocheirurus, Pararemopleurides) and thirty-eight new species. The material was systematically collected from two sections in western Hubei, two sections in northwestern Hunan, one section in southeastern Chongqing, one section in northeastern Guizhou, thirteen sections in southern Shaanxi, and four sections in northern Sichuan, southern China. Most of the specimens are not articulated and less than one centimeter in size, but  are well preserved. The study on trilobite facies suggests that the highly diverse fauna includes several communities at different depth and is characterized by two benthic endemic genera, Ovalocephalus and Paraphillipsinella, but contains rich mesopelagic cyclopygids in the deep outer shelf.
