The present work deals with the Hispid fauna of China. It comprises two parts, each of which is divided into four chapters and there are altogether eight chapters. In the present work 417 species of Hispid beetles of China are described. They belong to 49 genera which are grouped into the four subfamilies as follows: Anisoderinae, comprising 13 genera and 73 species; Hispinae, 15 genera and 137 species; Callispinae, 2 genera and 44 species; and Cassidinae, 19 genera and 163 species.
