This work deals with the systematic studies of Chinese Trichogrammtidae. Uptodate, there are 142 species in 41 genera discovered in China. Among which, descriptions of 39 genera and 128 species, including 1 genus and 68 species new to science and 9 gerera and 15 species newly recorded from China, are based upon the examination of more than 10 thousand slide specimens mostly collected by sweeping from Fujian, Jiangxi,Guangdong,Guangxi, Guizhou, Yunnan,Hunan,Hubei,Anhui,Henan,Shaanxi,Shanxi, Beijing ,Liaoning,Jilin, Heilingjiang and Inner Mongolia, 176 provinces and autonomous regions of China. Besides, 2 genera and 14 species previously described by other scientists are included as well.
The present work comprises two parts, namely, the general account and the systematic descriptions. In addition, the methods for specimen collection, preservation and preparation are deseribed.
A preliminary catalogue of the world species of Trichogrammatidae is appended at the end of this book.
