 The Gomphid Dragonflies of China(Odonata: Gomphidae) The present work deals with the systematic studies of Chinese dragonflies of the family Gomphidae. It compriese two parts,each of which is divided into four chapters as follows:

         1.A brief history of the systematic studes of Gomphidae of China

              (1) External morphology of elligomphus ardens (Needham)
              (2) Taxonomic characters
         3.Zoogegraphical distributiion
         4.System of classification of the Gomphidae of China
    II.Systematic Account
         5.Subfamily Gomphinae
         6.Subfamily Onychogomphiinae
         7.Subfamily Hageniinae
         8.Subfamily Lindeniinae
  Up to the present,there are 145 species and subspecies in 35 genera and subgenera of 4 aubfamilies and the symphs of 31 species and subspecies belonging to 25 genera have been discovered in China.
