All the content of this book is based on the fishing information and photos collected by the company's fishing boats operating in Northwest waters of Indian Ocean during the past years, which was selected, classified and identified by experts. This book mainly introduces by selection the morphological characteristic, distribution, ecological character of the main economic fish species, crustaceans and cephalopods and its fishing gears, economic value and processing technique according to the distribution, frequency occurred in the catch, economic value of the fishery resources. Each fish species in this book has been given in order of the Latin, Chinese, English, Spanish and French names, as well as the common or local name and the trade name, it is easy for readers to understand and exchange information from each other. This book also provided corresponding illustrated color photos for most of the fish species for an easy verification.
The book  collects 205 fish species subordinated to 18 orders, 76 familes and 124 genera; 12 crustaceans subordinated to 1 orders, 5 familes and 8 genera; 9 cephalopods subordinated to 3 orders, 5 familis and 6 genera. All fishes in this book is arranged according to the classifiation system in (Fishes of the world) by Joseph S. Nelson (1994)
