It took two years to obtain more than 130 fixed specimens, with samples collections from major vicinity of China coast, including Zhoushan in Zhejiang Province, Zhanjiang in Guangdong Province, Qingdao in Shandong Province, and Xiamen in Fujian Province. Ultimately, 476 photos were selected in this new book, this were through more than 1000 photos obtained under electronic microscope observation. It involved 7 orders, 15 families, 23 genus and 45 species, and covered the common red seaweeds of China.
