The present volume mainly deals with taxonomic system and geographic distribution of Chinese Chrysopidae. It’s divided two sections: the first section of genera account is focus on taxonomic history, morphological characters of adult and immature stages, biogeography and evolution of systematic taxonomy. Meanwhile, biology of green lacewings and its using on biological prevention are also summarized. Based on these information above, origin and evolution of green lacewings are discussed.
The seond section is a systematic account of Chinese species of Chrysopidae. A total of 246 species and subspecies in China are described, they are fallen in 27 genera and 3 subfamiles, and the taxonomic positions of 8 species are uncertain. The 3 subfamilies are Apochrysinae, Chrysopinae and Nothochrysinae. Apochrysinae includes only one genus and one species; Chrysopinae includes 24 genera and 235 species; Nothochrysinae includes 2 genera and 2 species. Among them, 10 species are new to Chrysopidae and one new record to China and one new combination in this volume.
