The entomozoacean ostracodes featured in this book are from the Devonian and Early Carboniferous strata of South China. They include representatives of the families Rhomboentomozoidae, Entomozoidae and Bollbozoidae and the subfamilies Trisulcoentomozoinae, Entomozoinae and Richterininae, totaling eighteen genera and 122 species. Among them, the genus Paraentomozoe and four species are new and nineteen species are dealt with under open nomenclature. Biostratigraphically, entomozoaceans can be grouped into twenty biozones and four subbiozones. Seven of these biozones are in the Lower and Middle Devonian and the remainder are in the Upper Devonian and Loaer Carboniferous.
