Abstract
This book is the third volume of the series of  "China Red List of Biodiversity: Vertebrates", i.e. " Volume Ill, Reptiles".
This book summarizes the study achievements of Chinas red list of reptiles, it also adjusts and improves the taxonomic system of Chinas reptiles, based on the recent research results of reptilian taxonomy in China. On this basis, it provides a scientific assessment of 475 reptile species in China in terms of their living conditions, threats, etc, and part of results are as follows: 145 reptile species are threatened (including 3 categories, i.e. Critically Endangered, Endangered and Vulnerable)in China accounting for about 30.5 percent of the total. In the book, relevant information of assessed 475 species including taxonomic status, assessment information, geographical distribution, population situation, habitat and ecosystem, threats factor, protection category and conservation action and relevant references are elaborated described. In order to make it easier for readers to identify species, the book also provides a large number of exquisite color plates of species

This book can be used as a reference for wild animal protect staffs and researchers, and can be used as an important data for decisions of government management department, e.g. nature reserve, environment protect, overseas trade, inspection and quarantine.
