Within the order Lepidoptera, there are two closely related families, viz, Drepanidae and Cyclidiidae, with a very high percentage of Chinese species constituents in the world records. It is obviously important in studying these two families not only in the faunistic sense but also in the zoogeographic meaning. A total of 2 genera, 7 species and 2 subspecies of Cyclidiidae and 2 subfamilies, 26 genera, 196 species and 37 subspecies of Drepanidae is dealt with in this issue. Among them, 50 species and 3 subspecies are discovered and described as new to science. The fauna of Chinese insects is a sort of local systematic study with monographic in character. Apart from the careful identification and description of each taxon, the phylogenetic relationship, zoogeographic distribution, coevolution of host plant and insect are also put in the important positions.
