Plants of Gentianaceae have bright and colorful flowers, being the most beautiful flowers on the Earth.They have also unique habitats, occupying the highest habitats on the earth, mostly growing at highelevation plateaus and mountains, making them the most attractive wild flowers on this blue planetEarth.
Started with doctoral dissertation researches, the author has been pursuing photographing of plantsof Gentianaceae family and their environments around the world for over 30 years. This book now selected over 1600 photos out of a collection of over 30000 photos accumulated. After rigorous scientificidentification and comprehensive analysis of the morphological, ecological and geographical featuresof the relevant species, the book focuses on over 300 species (including intraspecific taxa)of tribeGentianeae, introducing their scientific names, morphological characteristics, geographical distribution,and habitats. Each species is illustrated with multiple color photos taken from different angles and atdifferent growth states, in order to comprehensively describe their morphological characteristics andtheir beauty. This book covered 21 out of the 22 genera and over 30% species of the tribe worldwide, inparticular, the coverage of species of the genus Gentiana had reached nearly 57%.
