The Moderate-Resolution Imaging Spectrometer (MORIS) is a brand-new remote sensing instrument that came into use in 1980s. MORIS makes simultaneous and congruent observations of the earth in successive spectral bands, the ability that wins for it a good prospect for being used in a wide-range of applications. The MORIS carried on the spaceship SZ-3 is designed to use a two-sided spinning scan mirror, multiunit face-arrayed detectors in parallel scanning, double-beam optics system, direct coupling of prim decomposition, grating splitter, infrared focal-plane integral modules, and the Sterling cooling technique.
