《深圳市陆域脊椎动物多样性与保护研究》是在完成了为期3年的深圳市野生动物资源调查项目的基础上，结合作者们在深圳多年的专题研究成果编写而成。《深圳市陆域脊椎动物多样性与保护研究》次系统地阐述了深圳地区陆域脊椎动物的分布、区系组成及特点；重点研究了在项目执行期间发表的4个新物种（其中有3个新物种的模式产地在深圳），以及深圳市852种本土陆域脊椎动物的地理分布、濒危和保护等级、深圳种群状况及分布格局、受胁因素等；评估了主要生态类群和重点区域生态变化趋势，从自然地理、环境和人类社会经济活动等多个方面综合评价了深圳市的生态现状，划定了重点保护区域，提出了整体保护建议。
