Qinling is the greatest mountain range of central China. The fish-fauna in this area is very rich and numerous. Altogether 16, species printed here were collected in this area and they belong to 16 families and 85 genera, Cyprinidae shows a dominant part in this fauna, there are 96 species of it, occupying 60% of the total. In addition, there are 23 species of Cobitidae, 14 species of Bagridae and 28 species of all other families.

The difference in distribution of the fish-fauna between south and north slope of the Qinling Mountain Range which naturally divides the Palaearctic and Oriental Region is very remarkable. The reason for this difference of distribution can be seen from the fact that in South China, south of the Qinling Mountain Range, i.e.in oriental Region, are produced Homalopteridae, Sisoridae, which are characteristic of the Oriental Region, including Cyprinidae, such genera as Atrilinea, Distoechodon, Hemiculterella, Sinibrama, Ancherythroculter, Spinibarvus, Onychostoma, Folifer, Sinilabeo, Schizothothogobio, Leuciscus, which live in the north of the Qinling Range, do not distribute in the south of it.

In the present 16 families, 85 genera and 157 species have been known in China, except 4 new species. The description of these new species is given below.
