Dot maps are provided to depict the distribution at the county level of the Chinese Gymnosperms. The 220 taxa (species, subspecies and varieties) treated are mapped based on specimens in the major herbaria of China. Almost all of these taxa are native to the region.

The maps are arranged in systematic order, but in each family, they are in alphabetical order of genus names. Different marks are used to show variant species or varieties in each map.

Each map is accompanied by a legend containing the following information.
1.Full name of the species or the lower taxon and major synonyms.
2.General habit and life form (show by abbreviated word in parentheses).
3.Detailed areal distribution and altitudinal distribution.
