This book was written and compiled by Professor Shixuan Jin and Professor Wenshu Xu from North Jiaotong University .Professor Jin began to make researches on the railway history of the former China and wrote essays on the special topic at the beginning og 1960s .Then he completed the book of the Simple History of Chinese Railway in 1965.Later,after extensively collecting historical materials and making earnest invertigations and researches,a systematical and comprehensive book of the Developing History of Chinese Railway ,illustrating the developing process of Chinese Pailways was finally published after several years of hard work.
