The Frontier Petroleum Exploration in China(vol.4) 本書是《中國油氣新區勘探》叢書之第四卷。中國西北地方是世界上陸相侏羅系的重點沉積區。過去雖然也有小油田的發現，但終無重大突破。經過近幾年的勘探，西北地方侏羅系石油地質儲量平均每年以5000萬噸的速度增長，為西部大開發提供了豐富的資源基礎。本書通過煤系地層地球化學的研究，認為煤系生烴是指與沼澤環境有關的煤、高碳泥岩、暗色泥岩的生烴。暗色泥岩的生烴與湖相生烴不同，是新開闢的生烴領域。本書對油氣藏分佈、運移聚集規模、含油氣系統有詳盡有論述，同時，對41個盆地進行了綜合評價並按三個層次提出了勘探目標
