The research goals designed for the subject “ 3D Lithospheric Structure and Evolution of the North China Region” were to understand and summarize the characteristics of the 3D lithospheric structure of the North China region, in order to furnish evidence for the establishment of the lithospheric structural and tectonic units of China , provide a basis for the large-scale geological survey and mineral resource exploration and offer a breakthrough point for the formulation of the theory on the formation and evolution of the lithosphere beneath continental China.
